Happy Friday Green Room Families!

Can you believe the Rain this week? We had so much fun watching the rain fall, splashing in puddles, and even playing in the rain for a few minutes at a time. With the rain fall it was a perfect time to use our morning group time to talk about the seasons changing into winter. We talked about winter clothing, winter activities, and briefly talked about winter holidays.

Since the rain was falling hard at some times during the day we took the opportunity to really explore loose parts while crafting. Some awesome crafts we did this week include;
  • Chalk Painting (hammered the chalk down, and created paint)
  • Loose Parts Painting on Canvas ( Hanging in the hallway)
  • Necklace Stringing
  • Thanksgiving Wreath
Chalk Painting, and Necklaces were sent home day of. If you forgot them they are in your child’s cubby folder. Thanksgiving day Wreath will be placed on our door next Tuesday for all eyes to see, and Lastly Loose Parts Paintings are hanging in the hallway.

Next week we are looking forward to spending time with all of you at our special Thanksgiving Lunch.

As always, please remember to dress warm as we are taking advantage of the wonderful weather and spending more time outside.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Warmly,
Morah Brook & Morah Sarah

Happy Friday Green Room Families!

This week the Green Room Friends created some amazing Parsha crafts, and worked on new lessons. We began this week by reviewing the season of Fall and started the conversation/topic of Thanksgiving.

Crafts that were made by your child this week include;
  • Popsicle Tents
  • Placemats
  • Together bakes two cakes
  • Pinecone Turkey
Each of these crafts were made special for the Parsha. During community time we talked  about the story of Vayeira. Morah Sarah talked about Avraham and Sara and their time with three Angels, and the special gift that Hashem blessed them with. Our Parsha word of the week was Hosting. Since Sara and Avraham hosted many people and Angels into their tent, the Green Room decided to host the Purple Room for cake on Friday (many  pictures will be uploaded to facebook). These three crafts will all be sent home Friday, please check your child’s backpack, and folder inside their cubby.

Lessons that were presented to your child this week include;
  • Vayeira
  • Hosting
  • Sandpaper letter C
  • Gluing letter C (Fine Motor, Recall)
  • Line cutting (Fine Motor)
  • Squash hammering (Fall theme)
  • Sand pouring (Desert theme)
Every Morning when we come inside from outdoor play the Green Room does four main lessons. This week we focused Vayeira, and the holiday of Thanksgiving. We really focused on expressing what we are Thankful for. As always we talked about the timeline, and classroom rules each morning.
Lastly, with the seasons changing please make sure to bring your child a jacket for outside play and changing out their extra clothes. It’s the most beautiful time of the year, and we will be spending a lot more time outside!

Have a wonderful weekend!

Warmly,
