Happy New Year Green Room Families!

I am so happy to be back with your littles this week. I hope everyone had a fun and restful Winter Break!

This weeks main focus was just getting back into the swing of things with minimal new lessons. However, we added four new lessons to the shelf. Tonging, Geo Rocks, Heart Lacing, and lastly firefighter, and doctor trays.

Morah Sara and I also introduced Language Folders which will be used Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. On these days there will be a new lesson for your child that is on their level. Morah Sara or Morah Brook sits down with your child for a one on one lesson, and work on our Letter Sounds. It’s great time for us to connect and learn together! Feel free to come anytime and check out your child’s folder to see what they are up too.

This week in the Green Room we learned about Parshas Vayechi.  We talked about how there were 12 tribes of Israel, each tribe was one of Yaakov's children. Each tribe would inherit a portion of the land of Israel. In this week's parsha Yaakov gave Yosef an extra part of the land of Israel for keeping his promise that he would bring Yaakov to Israel. We learned that when we say we are going to do something, we should try really hard to keep our word, just like Yosef kept his word and brought Yaakov to Israel.  Next week we will jump into learning all about Shabbat, be ready to take home some amazing crafts and celebrate together at our Shabbat Dinner.

My most favorite thing this week was each child standing up during Group time to share something with their friends about their life, break, or what they had for dinner. This was a great way to get them in the motion for Show and Tell. It was so much fun. We will start Show and Tell next week. Thursday and Friday will be the only day your child can bring something small and unbreakable to school to share. Please bring the item in a brown paper bag and place it inside their cubby with their name clearly written. I will send out a schedule of what day your child should bring in their item. If you have any questions do not hesitate to ask! We will take many pictures don’t worry.

Have a restful and wonderful Shabbat!

Warmly,

Morah Brook and Morah Sara
